Critical Fish and 87Gallery collab

By 24th November 2021 Creative Practice

EXCITING TIMES! The Critical Fish has been approached by 87Gallery to deliver monthly workshops on a rolling contract!

I visited Matt and Emily at 87 Gallery yesterday evening, along with Jill Howitt (fellow Fish director) Tom Robinson (of the Aimless Archive and The Death of a Bargain – and who is also fast becoming the third fin of CF) to discuss ideas for a sort of crit-based, collaborative, ongoing programme to support both the exhibitions at the gallery and the development of the local Hull creative community.

It was such a lovely meeting, we covered a lot of ground and pinned some things down (although I’m not sure I can share too much right now) – we discussed the brief, the intentions, budgets, structure, format, contracts… all that jazz.

Tom and I – both being current students at HSAD, intend to develop something similar for the College too (after my Lit Review and his Dissertation Poster is handed in come January!). Watch this space.
