Tracewalking builds on a rich art-walking heritage through a lens of additative and subtractive mark-making. Instead of adding a physical mark onto the landscape, what if I subtracted so a mark is left on me instead?
Tracewalking is a meditative experiment in human:non-human co-creation. Produced through an exchange of additive and subtractive line drawing, the land deposits material (i.e. mud, seeds, fungal spores, bacterias) onto me – using the socks as a removable, retainable interface. Life living on this interface is nurtured to grow and develop over time.
