After securing a National Lottery Communities Fund grant of £17,090 in partnership with Hull and East Riding Friends of the Earth, I lead on an ambitious participatory arts and nature project across Hull and East Riding called ‘Tree Stories’, taking on the role of both Project Manager and Lead Artist.
The premise is to invite local residents to ‘tell the tale of a local tree’ – using participatory storytelling to help communities connect to nature, discover green initiatives on their doorsteps, and help encourage climate action. This invitation is supported by digital and offline submission processes, translated resources, online mapping tools, a public programme delivered by HERFoE and community partners and much more!
I co-designed the project with the HERFoE network, secured the grant, and produced all the promotional resources, and continue to develop the website and interactive maps, manage volunteers and commissioned freelancers, build community partnerships and lead the project until September 2027.
