2024 – Invited as a visiting artist within their annual Kaleidoscope festival, Thorseby Primary School (Hull), I taught Year 3 pupils about my artistic practice and what it’s like to be a disabled artist, before inviting them to create wooden ‘Beings’ for inclusion within the Where The Beings Are installation.
2022 – Year 3 and 4 pupils at Elloughton Primary School (East Riding) were introduced to my artistic practice through presentation and handling artworks, before helping them to develop their own critical evaluations of my work. I later taught them drawing techniques that encourage a relaxed confidence in and looseness of line, increased dexterity and willingness to play and experiment. The children then develop(ed) their own art pieces in response to my ecological and experimental approach to drawing. An essay about the experience can be read HERE.
