I was scheduled to exhibit work at Humber Street Gallery as part of the ‘Practice in Place’ exhibition. My original proposal was to build a huge structure, which people could draw and glue things down and climb all over, but this had to be changed as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
I turned the challenge presented into project that looks to explore how creative participation could happen in a post-corona world. I developed ‘Roots’, a hands-off participatory project. The images showing drawings and marks were printouts I made available to help ‘start people off’ drawing, or collaging.
Details of the project can be found here. Featured image courtesy of Absolutely Cultured.
